OCD & Related Disorders
My training has provided me extensive experience working with individuals dealing with issues related to gender and orientation. I help clients process gender issues and transition pacing, provide HRT/surgery letters, and assist in connecting them with affirming services in the community. I am a member of the World Professional Organization for Transgender Health and adhere to the WPATH standards of care.
I treat a variety of anxiety issues, including Generalized Anxiety,
Specific Phobia, and Social Anxiety Disorder. I work with the client to relieve symptoms using evidenced based therapies, such as CBT, EX/RP and Mindfulness, which are highly effective for addressing these issues.
I also have training and experience in treating OCD and related disorders. I partner with clients to help them find relief using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention. These evidenced based practices have a high rate of effectiveness in reducing symptoms so that clients can get their lives back.
I provide an environment where my clients receive unconditional positive regard. I work collaboratively with my clients to incorporate tools that are effective, but also make sense to them. I work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages.
I highly enjoy working with people to help them improve their relationships. I welcome couples and romantic partners of all varieties, including monogamous and non-monogamous relationships and those across all orientations and genders.
Often, it is helpful to include family members in the therapeutic process. Whether the goal is to improve family communication or to give family members tools to best support a client, we will work as a team to meet those goals. I incorporate a variety of Family Systems methods to improve the family dynamic.
